The Social Impact Director, Community Mobilization & Strategic Outreach, is a high-level, strategic leadership role responsible for driving Beyond Type 1’s domestic grassroots advocacy, managing critical funding streams, and expanding organizational reach through high-value partnerships. This Director will develop and lead the execution of key strategies and programs in partnership with the SVP, ensuring robust implementation, maximizing community engagement, and achieving superior social impact and health equity outcomes.

Location: US remote
Target Salary Range: $110-130k annual salary

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Mobilization & Grassroots Advocacy Leadership

  • Program Strategy & Execution: In partnership with the SVP, develop and lead the execution of the comprehensive strategy for the Beyond Ambassadors program, defining and achieving multi-year recruitment and engagement goals through both digital and in-person mobilization.
  • Program Redesign: Directly lead the strategic redesign and uplift of the Beyond Ambassadors program to ensure a continuous and highly engaging volunteer journey.
  • Strategic Relationship Management: Manage and execute the relationship strategy with key domestic advocacy and member organizations, ensuring the team effectively utilizes external resources (e.g., policy intelligence, action alert campaigns) for audience mobilization.
  • Contractor Oversight: Manage relationships and operations with external Social Impact & Global Advocacy partners and contractors, ensuring their deliverables are met and their work aligns with the strategic implementation plan.

2. Strategic Outreach & Partnerships

  • Partnership Strategy & Development: In partnership with the SVP, develop the comprehensive strategic community partner strategy to identify and prioritize high-value regional and national organizations to support expanding programmatic reach.
  • Health Equity Focus: Ensure that all community partner development and community engagement efforts are implemented to align with the organization’s strategy for bridging the care divide.

3. Grant Pipeline & Financial Stewardship

  • Execution & Oversight: Directly manage and provide strategic oversight to the grant writing consultant/contractor, ensuring the successful execution of the approved funding strategy, including proposal submission, post-award reporting, and tracking alignment of grants with programmatic goals.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Years of experience: 5-7 years experience
  • Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Health (MPH preferred), Public Policy, Business Administration (MBA preferred) , or Non-Profit Management.
  • Program Management & Evaluation: Proven expertise in high-level program management, measurement, and evaluation (M&E), including setting KPIs, analyzing program outcomes, and adjusting strategy for continuous improvement.
  • Strategic & Consulting Acumen: Experience in or skills associated with business consulting, demonstrating strong analytical, strategic planning, process optimization, and complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Partnership Success: Demonstrated success in developing strategy for, and successfully building, cultivating, and closing regional and/or national community based partnerships to advance social impact goals.
  • Digital Fluency: Experience collaborating with digital marketing teams  as they relate to grassroots mobilization, online community engagement, and digital campaign execution.
  • Preferred Knowledge Base: Some knowledge of the diabetes landscape, including knowledge of Type 1 and/or Type 2 diabetes and related health equity issues.
